Propaganda and Boredom Dominating Canadian Politics

Stephen Harper has done the obvious and convinced the Governer General to let him suspend parliament until January.  He will spend the remaining time coming up with a budget that will satisfy us and…. the British Empire I guess.

BORING.

Bob Rae dropped out of the Liberal leadership race, leaving Micheal Ignatieff to be the leader.

BORING.

I know I said in my last article that this will be an interesting period, but I was wrong.  It’s BORING.

I was listening to News Talk 650 the other day and they had a segment called "Stephan Dion, Should He Stay or Should He Go?".  Here was the typical insightful remark of the average caller:  "He should go, DUH!  Because…he sucks and….well he just plain sucks."  I hate bandwagon jumping.

BORR-ING

The last few days for me have been nothing but boredom and anger.  Anger at all the gullible Canadians who are falling for the onslaught of anti-Liberal propaganda that’s been circulating, perpetrated by the news talk radio stations and I assume the conservative television networks.  Canadians who got a few petition requests in their email and suddenly feel they need to stand up for their democratic right.

I will explain it for you.  Whether you voted for the NDP, Green Party, Liberal, or Block, you voted AGAINST the Conservatives, and for a "liberal" government.  Ignore all the pundits and people complaining about the so called "blatant power lust", and variations of that theme.  It’s propaganda, and it’s not relevant to the bigger picture.

It’s extremely important that we get the Conservatives out of power.  They are dangerous, and the most undemocratic of any of the parties.  Why not do some research and decide for yourself who the greater evil is instead of agreeing with the overreacting population?  Let’s think of the bigger picture okay?  I’m not going to get worked up over other’s speculation about motives.  I care about what really matters: The environment, liberty, and social progression.  The Conservatives are the antithesis of these values.

Let your common sense do the talking, not your in-box.
