Christmas Letter From Our Government
Hey, check out what the government sent me:
"Dear Citizen,
We all know that Jesus is the reason for the season. It’s a fact. Look it up. It’s called Google. You can look up facts in Google. It’s on the Internets. Look it up. You will find that it is indeed a fact.
Now. Pour your money into buying Christmas gifts. Seriously. Bye tons of shit, koz we need to stimulates the economies, duh! Don’t you realize we are in a recession? Go into dept for your corporate masters! Our future depends on it. Excessive capitalism will make Jesus come back!
We get paid ridiculous amounts of money to run the country as we see fit. And we don’t like it when you educate yourselves, so just accept that we are doing an exceptional job and keep living your lives, and keep on buying stuff. You deserve it, because your lives are likely much harder than ours. Honestly, we appreciate you! Your tax dollars pay for our swimming pools.
Merry Christmas!
From,
The Government.
P.S. Try Walmart for same crazy Christmas bargains! Grab a Walmart credit card! Interest rates range from 10% to 20%, which is no big concern really if you think about it. You don’t even pay interest if you pay it off within a year! How fantastic of them!"

Ontario Updates Ancient Animal Cruelty Law
I decided to focus on a bit more positive Canadians news.
Our animal rights laws were 100 years old, so in an effort to appease Canadians, the Conservatives passed a bogus bill, S-203, despite petitions from Canadians and every animal rights group in Canada condemning this bill. There was even a better one, bill C-373, that actually closed loopholes in the law that prevented people from being prosecuted. Once again the will of the people was ignored. (This isn’t the good news).
So it comes as a nice surprise that Ontario passed Bill 50, which updates alot of things including the right for law enforcement to inspect facilities for animals used for entertainment, as well as making it illegal to train animals for fighting and owning animal fighting equipment.
Once convicted, an individual can be barred from owning an animal. Penalties have been stiffened. It’s mostly focused on zoos and other attractions, and it’s by no means perfect, but at least it’s something.
Canada lags way behind other developed countries in it’s animal rights laws. Currently a piece of white trash can leave their dog starving on a chain for it’s whole life and not be charged.
Bill 50 is at least a step in the right direction and hopefully the rest of the Country will catch up once the Conservatives leave.

Propaganda and Boredom Dominating Canadian Politics
Stephen Harper has done the obvious and convinced the Governer General to let him suspend parliament until January. He will spend the remaining time coming up with a budget that will satisfy us and…. the British Empire I guess.
BORING.
Bob Rae dropped out of the Liberal leadership race, leaving Micheal Ignatieff to be the leader.
BORING.
I know I said in my last article that this will be an interesting period, but I was wrong. It’s BORING.
I was listening to News Talk 650 the other day and they had a segment called "Stephan Dion, Should He Stay or Should He Go?". Here was the typical insightful remark of the average caller: "He should go, DUH! Because…he sucks and….well he just plain sucks." I hate bandwagon jumping.
BORR-ING
The last few days for me have been nothing but boredom and anger. Anger at all the gullible Canadians who are falling for the onslaught of anti-Liberal propaganda that’s been circulating, perpetrated by the news talk radio stations and I assume the conservative television networks. Canadians who got a few petition requests in their email and suddenly feel they need to stand up for their democratic right.
I will explain it for you. Whether you voted for the NDP, Green Party, Liberal, or Block, you voted AGAINST the Conservatives, and for a "liberal" government. Ignore all the pundits and people complaining about the so called "blatant power lust", and variations of that theme. It’s propaganda, and it’s not relevant to the bigger picture.
It’s extremely important that we get the Conservatives out of power. They are dangerous, and the most undemocratic of any of the parties. Why not do some research and decide for yourself who the greater evil is instead of agreeing with the overreacting population? Let’s think of the bigger picture okay? I’m not going to get worked up over other’s speculation about motives. I care about what really matters: The environment, liberty, and social progression. The Conservatives are the antithesis of these values.
Let your common sense do the talking, not your in-box.

Thoughts on the Possible Canadian Coalition
I tuned into CBC radio and thought I heard a bunch of children squabbling, but suddenly I realized that it was our country’s leaders in a heated debate in the House of Commons! Oh boy! Somethings up. Something big! Aaaaaah…. I see. Thank you for educating me CBC.
WELL, this possible coalition is generating some serious backlash from people. I keep hearing that this is just a power grab, has no real benefit to the country, etc. I think the biggest piss off to us, the democratic citizen, is that we have no say in this. Well we are saying, but I don’t think the government really gives a damn!
Since I never really thought of us as a democracy in the first place, and being not surprised, I immediately tried to look on the bright side.
Let’s see…. they have the chance to remove an insane bully from power…… ummmm let’s DO IT! What are we waiting for noobs? Coalition this shit already. We can speculate on motives, but really, who cares? Let’s turn this government back into at least a pseudo democracy again.
What’s that CBC? You said Stephen Harper was wire tapping members of other parties? Oh his party members just illegally recorded a private meeting and released it to the public? Just that? Okay.
Take those fuckers down!
But wait! Who will lead us? Stephan Dion? Meh. Let’s give Jack Layton a turn. I wanna see if he’s truly the legend he attempts to be.
I guess in the end it’s up to the Queen of England. Or at least her delegate, the Governor General.
Canada are politics.
This should be an interesting few days.

Coalition Governments In Canada
Should Canada Bail Out Our Struggling Companies?
Whaat? The automotive industry wants bailout money from the taxpayers? But that’s capitalism yo! Millions of people could lose their jobs? …Oh… ummmmm, wow that kinda sucks. But look what the banks in the States were doing! They took expensive vacations and flipped the bird to the American people! But I guess that’s different. Millions of job losses VS a few rich douchebags not making millions. There’s quite a difference.
That’s rough. I’m not a fan of corporations to begin with, so I kinda want to see them crash and burn. But on the other hand I don’t really want so many people to lose their jobs. It’s a tough situation for sure.
*shrug*
I’m sure our goverment will do what they think is best. Stephen Harper is an economist isn’t he?
Have a great day!
Displaying the Confederate Flag in Canada
What’s with Canadians displaying the confederate flag on their vehicles all of a sudden? I’ve started noticing it here and there in the past few months, and today I took a short drive and I saw it on 3 different license plates in one trip! I’m confused about what these people are trying to prove? Are you trying to look bad ass? I want to know the message they are attempting to send to their fellow Canadians. I’m a hick and proud of it? They must not be aware of the controversy surrounding that flag and probably have no clue what it represents.
Even if you’re not intending to be racist, why put it up and risk the possibility of people thinking that you are? It really doesn’t help either that almost every vehicle I’ve seen it on has been a beat up pick-up truck with an angry looking dude driving and his terrified girlfriend riding shotgun.
I could very well be overlooking something. There may be some sort of profound modern age symbolism that I’m unaware of. But if your goal is simply to look like a bad ass, then you fail. All I see is a racist hick. Sorry.

Conservatives Fail to Secure Majority
So, despite all the terrible things the Conservatives have attempted during their reign, like stamping on our freedoms, cutting funding to important health and art programs, and trying to sell us out to corporations, a bunch of Canadians decided to ignore these terrible things and vote for them anyway. Did these people just choose to ignore all that like it never happened? They forgot all of the terrible things Harper said about Canadian citizens, and all of the fascist bills they tried to pass? I suppose Canada has more rich people than we realized, trying to get more money at any cost. Sigh… greed will likely destroy us all.
Perhaps it’s because we had the worst voter turnout in history. Chances are the people who didn’t vote are the ones who would have voted for the more liberal parties. The reason for this is a ton of people, including me, weren’t aware that we needed photo ID as well as proof of our current address. I drove home and got a utility bill but most of them just went home. Also, students living on campus weren’t told that they needed to get some form from their colleges, because the address on their voting form was generally that of their parents. So thanks to Elections Canada, the win was pretty much handed to the Conservatives. I’m certain of this because like, come on, there’s gotta be way more liberal, freedom loving individuals out there than there are rich, white, christian old men(owned). Or maybe many Canadians pay no attention whatsoever to what goes on in politics and base their votes on the campaign ads they hear on their local top 40 radio station. All I can say is I’m baffled.
But as terrified as I am of the Conservatives, at least they didn’t get their majority. I can breathe a sigh of relief and hope that the Liberals and the NDP don’t allow them to pass anything stupid.
What soulless, evil shenanigans will Harper and his buddies be up to this term? I will be documenting them on this website. Canada is watching.
Why I Like Jack Layton and the NDP
Party Goals
These are just a few of their policies that are important to me:
- They want to undue the damage Harper has done to women’s rights and restore the funding that was cut.
- Stop unnecessary tax giveaways to corporations.
- Stop cell phone companies, banks, and credit card companies from ripping people off.
- They want to stop corporate wealth for the few, and have economic and social equality for all.
- They would like to end poverty (we’ll see, that’s what they all say)
- The NDP Sound Intelligent
I got some liberal propaganda slipped under my door the other day, and it basically said that we shouldn’t vote NDP because some of their members were on film smoking pot(the article forgot to mention that this was while educating the public about pot with Mark Emery and the Marijuana Party, before they joined the NDP).
Now, I don’t know about you, but I think that’s fucking awesome. Real people, living life how they want to, standing up for what is right. Once I read that I liked the NDP even more! And the fact that some members were smoking pot on camera to make a point tells me that they have common sense and ambition. That says to me that the NDP are made up of members who are likely to support a marijuana decriminalization bill , which this country desperately needs(Other NDP members have already said they would support a decriminalization bill), and other basic human rights that other parties don’t seem to want to address.
Stephen Harper would throw these people in jail for something he most likely "believes" is harmful, after ignoring scientific evidence and statistical analysis. Who is wiser? I’d say the people who are confident enough with their reasoning skills to allow themselves to be filmed, which was for an important cause. It’s a shame that these 2 heroes had to resign to protect the NDP’s reputation. Are Canadians really so stupid that the knowledge of party members smoking pot is enough to make them vote for another party?
Anyway, I like people who stand up for what is true, who fight for a cause. I like ACTION. The other parties like the Conservatives pretend to be "virtuous leaders" who then spread misconceptions about things to further their strange agendas, and do nothing to help our society evolve.
- Jack Layton Sounds Enlightened
When Jack Layton speaks he sounds like a typical Canadian. Most politicians drone on about government mumbo jumbo that most of us automatically tune out. They do that to make what they’re saying sound important and to take up time, but the words have very little substance. When Jack Layton speaks, he uses basic logic and clear, concise sentences. He addresses things that me and many other Canadians think about on a daily basis. For instance, he wants to tax the corporations, whereas the liberals and conservatives want to give more money to the corporations. Layton seems generally concerned about the Canadian people, not because he says he is, but because of the type of issues he brings up, the things that most Canadians can agree with. He talks about issues the same way that I would talk about them with my friends.
I know Jack Layton can come off as an asshole. I’ve seen him debate on television before and he sounded like dick. But sometimes it takes an asshole, to take on an even bigger asshole, like Stephen Harper. Layton may be an ass, but he’s always on Harper’s case, calling him out whenever he does something stupid or immoral. Of course any party leader would do this, they want to win the election after all. Layton seems different though. He makes his points by using straight forward logic that’s not warped by political dialogue designed to mask other intentions.
- Jack Layton Backs His Members
Recently Stephen Dion fired one of his members for being suspicious about Americas involvement with the 9/11 attacks and supposedly making anti Semitic remarks(I couldn’t find any clear evidence why these statements were anti-Semitic, but if you can find something please post ).
It’s a tragedy that people can’t even post their educated opinions on their own blog without everyone calling for your resignation. If we all just go with the status quo and never question anything, we might as well be slaves.
An NDP member, Bev Collins has recently come under attack because she has similar suspicions, meaning she has been examining the evidence and likes to know the truth about things like most of us. Again, people are calling for her resignation, but Layton will hear none of it. Layton’s even investigated the material that she’s been reading! He doesn’t share her beliefs but at least he examines the evidence for himself and respects his members right to free speech.
Arggh, I’m reading other blogs and people are upset because Layton is friends with a guy who writes some of this 9/11 conspiracy stuff and has thoroughly examined the evidence. Why is this bad?! Why are people so bent on assuming everything is always okay and that our governments would NEVER LIE to us? Why is questioning things considered a bad thing? Get a clue people. Man, look at this: http://jasoncherniak.blogspot.com/2008/09/media-looking-into-ndps-911-conspiracy.html . Read some of the comments. I’m stunned by some of the close mindedness of people. I thought Canadians had a bit more common sense than this.
It is our duty as citizens of a democracy to investigate anything suspicious in our governments.
Sorry my anger is getting me off track.
- Jack Layton Doesn’t Fuck Around
He’s concerned with corporate takeover, government corruption, human rights, I could go on and on. He’s not scared to talk about anything that he feels is important. Even if it could hurt his chances at getting elected, he stands up for what he believes in and continues to discuss it. For instance, when the public reacts and makes illogical assumptions about his stances, like assuming that because he’s concerned about sovereignty that he’s a conspiracy theorist. He doesn’t silence his opinions to get more votes from the uneducated. That is real. He’s the real deal.
Layton decimating at the Canadian Leaders Debate:
In Conclusion
The Liberals and Conservatives have shown time and time again that they won’t follow through on their promises. Are Layton and his members just another bunch of politicians who make false promises? Layton could very well be just another douche bag politician, but at least when he talks I can relate to what he’s saying. We won’t know until they get elected I guess.
Harper Gets Tough on Crime
"Okay guys, it’s time to get tough on crime."
"My first order of business is to spend 260 Million Dollars to expand our jails. We need to make room for all the pot heads."

"Next, we’ll pass a law that demands a minimum jail sentence for ANYONE caught with even one marijuana plant."

"Marijuana usage is obviously our biggest problem. If we want to reduce crime, we gotta put these people away!"

"Now I know this sounds harsh…. But rest assured, even if my own wife and kids were caught smoking marijuana, I’d insist that they get thrown in jail immediately. We just can’t afford to tolerate such criminal behavior here in Canada!"

"So by ignoring all the statistical facts as well as the will of the people, I will take a bite out of crime just like our good friends in America!"

"Thanks for the tip buddy!"
